Our
conservatories
Each hardwood
conservatory is hand-manufactured in Town & Country's workshops
in England. The roof is pre-assembled for accuracy, numbered, then disassembled
for shipment. This ensures accuracy of the footprint and attachment
to the adjoining structure. Each project includes detailed shop drawings
which are approved by the client prior to manufacture.
Our standard
hardwood conservatories are made of Sapele hardwood throughout. Sapele
is a very dense structurally resilient African hardwood with excellent paint adhesion properties.
The exterior roof is capped in urethane enameled aluminum to minimize
maintenance on the areas most difficult for our clients to access. Windows
are custom-sized and are made in individually-framed glazed leafs, not
direct glazed sections as in modular systems. Standard gutters are heavy
gauge enamel coated aluminum.
Glazing
patterns are either true-divided and retained by molded hardwood bead
or optional simulated divided lites.
Insulated
(thermopane) glass is standard as is solid brass hardware, fully-wedged
finger joints and true-frame window construction. High performance glass,
leaded glass and tinted glass are options.
Interior
details include deep ogee profile rafters, and molded frame posts as well as optional
hardwood screen doors and concealed side screens for the North American
market. Click here for a complete technical specification on our Hardwood Conservatories.
The newest addition to our product line is the Aluminum Series. It is made of thermallly enhanced or broken aluminum roof rafters, aluminum ridge, eaves beams, corner posts, connectors and aluminum reinforced sill, all clad in ASTM rated PVC-u to provide a thermal barrier throughout. A patented ventilated ridge is standard with self-sealing rain baffle and additional manual or electric roof vents are optional.
Side frames are thermally efficient with aluminum structural posts clad in PVC-u. This reduces heat loss and condensation associated with metal frame buildings. Side sashes feature an integrated weep system, making the buildings particularly suitable for humid locations.
Standard glass is high-performance Low-E using tempered/tempered one inch overall thickness insulated units in the roof and tempered/tempered 7/8 inch overall thickness units in the side frames.
