Bay-End Conservatory

Coastal locations are not a restriction for glass conservatories, because of our ability to provide framing engineered to design load requirements. Using a varying sizes of frame members, while preserving a sense of scale and proportion is part of our design process. Where required for hurricane locations, rated impact glass is an option and we also have Florida rated components for certain sizes of windows and skylights.

Regardless of the location, engineering combined with a sense of scale and proportion and aesthetic details that complement the host structure remain paramount.

In this exquisite location, affording sweeping views of Rhode Island Sound, the use of insulated base panels, lead pattern wishbone glazing and a soft green custom color keep the conservatory from overpowering the main house, which it sits in front of. This prominent location required a thoughtful connection detail to preserve the sense that the conservatory was always there.
