Conservatory Connections
Some conservatory connections stand on their own. Often called links, these conservatories link rooms much like a traditional hallway. The examples above and below stand on their own in spectacular fashion. Useful for connecting two separate areas of the home, these unique structures provide natural light, exciting architectural interest, and a gateway to the outdoors.
Connecting the Conservatory
Experienced with many solutions, we can answer your connection questions. Creative designs work around any limitations caused by existing construction. We have many ways to build attractive, functional connections by using flat roof sections, custom connecting links, and custom roof pitches.
In these examples, the link is shorter, leading to a larger conservatory space. Both seek to make the best connection to the main structure. Above we have a glazed gable that connects to the home. Below we have a solid flat roof portion that accommodates a second floor balcony.
Second floor windows can be also be preserved with a flat roof portion within conservatory itself as in this bay end masterpiece.
Or create height with a raised roof lantern and bring the windows inside the conservatory.
The bay window of the second floor posed a challenge, but our expert designers found a way to fit within the home’s architecture without a hitch.
Sometimes, connections mirror the existing roof lines perfectly as seen in this home below. The lean-to mirrors the pitch, while the gable creates height and interest.
Connecting the Conservatory to the Adjoining Room
With no exception, the interior connection to your conservatory is also something to consider in the design. Some choose a simple pair of french doors. Others prefer an open floor plan. The folding sliding door examples below offer the best of both, separation or openness depending on your mood.
Open plan creates a wonderful transition from kitchen to dining in the rooms shown below.
Planning a conservatory is an exciting project. We’re happy to help make the most of the conservatory connection and create an exciting addition for your home.
